Is it just me, or has photography got a little more sexual these days?

You’re right photography is a bit more sexual these days. The pictures are still good but I think it needs more naked men to balance things out, then I wouldn’t be complaining! :)

Photography always have an element of the erotic/sensuous. It was the same 50 years ago and more. The history of photography shows that. Since we are a more sexual libertaed society we relate more to the erotic/sexual in photography as one would 100 years ago. Have a nice weekend:-)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely has changed. A simple picture could be sexy without showing too much. I miss that to be honest!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog too. Following as well :) xo.
It did change in the last few years, you are right, but then it also depends on the publication. Say, it's more common for Love or Numero or Vogue Germany, the latter seem to be in constant need of showing off quite a bit of flesh. On the other hand, if done tastefully, it looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOn a completely different note, I was wondering if you would like to follow each other? Of course, if you like my blog. :)

I agree with you. Photography has become very sexual. So have the ads using children, dressing them far to sexually. Push up bras for seven year old girls --- really, what does a girl that age have to push up?! Whatever happened to leaving something to the imagination? Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks society has become too sexualized.
ReplyDeleteI used to think everything was getting really sexual these days too, then I started watching old movies and looking at old photography and realized it's always been that way ;)
ReplyDeleteI think everything is getting very sexual! Some of it is gorgeous, but there's a fine line between subtle and overt-and it's becoming very overt!
